Munene Denis

Software, AI and hardware that work where your customers are.

I lead engineering at Emen. We design and build platforms, AI features and connected devices for Kenyan businesses — built for mobile phones, M-Pesa, patchy networks and real installations in the field.

What I do

Three disciplines, one team

Most projects need more than one. Having them under one roof means the app, the model and the device are designed together.

Emen Tech

Product engineering

Web and mobile platforms, marketplaces, online shops and business systems — with M-Pesa, WhatsApp and offline use built in from day one.

  • Full-stack web apps & PWAs
  • E-commerce, payments & inventory
  • Business systems, automation & integrations
Applied AI

AI that earns its place

Machine learning, voice agents, computer vision and generation, added where they change an outcome — with fallbacks so the product still works when a model doesn't.

  • Predictive analytics & data analysis
  • Voice, vision & conversational flows
  • Satellite & geospatial data
Emen Lighting

Embedded & IoT

ESP32 firmware, LED signage, sensors and telemetry — configured rather than rewritten for each site, and updated safely over the air.

  • LED signage & displays
  • Sensor networks & real-time monitoring
  • Hardware–software integration

About

From circuits to code to company

An Electrical & Electronic Engineer from JKUAT whose thesis put a camera and a QR scanner on a front desk. That mix of hardware and software became Emen Engineering Limited, founded in 2020 and now shipping live products.

How we work

From the field to production

  1. 01

    Understand the ground

Who uses it, on what phone, on what network, paying how. We agree goals, constraints, milestones and a timeline.

  2. 02

    Prototype the risky part

Architecture and a working slice of the hardest piece — a payment flow, a model, a device — before committing to the full build.

  3. 03

    Build and test

Iterative delivery with regular demos, automated tests, continuous deployment and documentation.

  4. 04

    Operate and improve

Hosting, support and iteration after launch, guided by how the product is actually used.
